Good News

Dear Brethren,

We often hear so much bad news that it is possible to forget the "Good News" that this world so desperately needs.  We should be careful not to take for granted the wonderful revelations that only the Children of God have received.  This evil world has been blinded to the Will of God and the Truth of what our Eternal God is performing.  We have been given the "Good News.

Remember the excitement and exhilaration upon learning of those things God is working out here below.  Let's not complain about the ills of society so much that we forget those marvelous truths we have learned as members of the body of Jesus Christ.  "Brethren, whatsoever things are true.., honest.., just.., pure.., lovely.., of good report; if there be any virtue and... praise, think on these things." (Philippians 4:8)

Think back to the "Good News" that caught our attention when we first learned that God is keeping His promise to Abraham by making "Who [Jesus Christ] hath delivered us from the power of darkness, [Satan] and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son."  (Colossians 1:13)  We have been delivered from Satan's kingdom.   That fact brought us the realization that God is actively involved in lives here and now.  This miserable world is searching for life on Mars hoping to prove evolution, and that God is not involved in the lives of men.  The Gospel reveals that God is intricately involved from beginning to end.

"That in blessing I will bless thee [Abraham], and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed [children] as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice." (Gen 22:17-18)

Remember when we were taught that we become the Children of God with all the Royal privileges - and that we would not just float around heaven all day looking at the "beatific vision."  "Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God." (1John 3:1)

Mankind does not realize that the plan of God is revealed in His Holy Days, and that Jesus will soon rule on this earth as a real King of kings!  There will finally be justice and fairness.  We came to see how deceived-man will fight against Jesus Christ.   "These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings." (Revelation 17:14)

We learned about the mercy of God toward all men.  Our minds were opened to the Truth of the Kingdom of God and the fallacy of an eternal hell fire, and that all men will have the opportunity to be in God's Kingdom - not just a select few who happened to be in the right place at the right time.  "The rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished."  (Revelation 20:5)

What a blessing it was to us to have the pages of the Bible, God's Word, opened to us for the first time - a living book that revealed the meaning of life to us - being told that the Bible could be understood instead of being a closed mysterious book"Making the word of God [Bible] of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye."  (Mark 7:13)

Finally, realizing that living according to Godly ways produces peace of mind - the fears and doubts begin to fade away.  "Let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful."  (Colossians 3:15)

What a blessing to know the purpose and meaning of our existence - why we were born - to live eternal life in the Family of God in the Kingdom of God.  "These are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name."  (John 20:31)

Brethren, we could go on and on describing how we have learned the solution to this world's ills.  Let us give God thanks for the precious calling He has given us at this time.  God has shown us, and we now know the things this world desperately needs to hear and understand.

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endures forever."  (Psalms 111:10)
