Countdown to the
Return of Jesus Christ |
Dear Brethren,
Wouldn't it be great if we knew the exact
time of Christ's return so that we could countdown the time - 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-....
"But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in
heaven, neither the Son, but the Father." (Mark 13:32)
Clearly we are not meant to know the exact time.
"But of the times and the seasons,
brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know
perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction
cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not
escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should
overtake you as a thief." (1 Thessalonians 5:1-5)
So, it simply is not meant for us
to have a convenient countdown that tells us how long we have to the
return of Jesus Christ. But, the countdown is taking place none the
less. Each day we are just that much closer to the final day -
3-2-1-!!!
"The Lord himself shall descend from
heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump
of God." (1 Thessalonians 4:16)
With the ever present trouble in the
Middle East, will we soon see all the sides come together and declare a
"Permanent Peace Plan?" Let's not be fooled when they say "Peace and
safety," - and they will surely say it soon.
There will be universal approval and
acceptance of the Plan that the world will expect to usher in a time of
sweeping Peace and security. Only the elect will recognize that the
Plan signals imminent war. "Sudden destruction cometh upon them...
and they shall not escape." (1 Thessalonians 5:3)
Brethren, "watch therefore, and pray
always, that you may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that
shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man." (Luke
21:36)
We have some good news! Sabbath
Services will be "live" on the Internet today. On Wednesday and
Thursday we conducted successful test broadcasts from two different
locations after we downloaded the necessary Windows Media Player
software. Please let us know if you experience any excessive buffering
with our new system.
