Alliances Leagues and Treaties |
Dear Brethren,
We have lived in a time of unprecedented peace
and prosperity. God has blessed us – not because of our own
inherent greatness – but because of His covenant with Abraham.
“I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and
make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing.”
(Genesis 12:2) God kept his promise to Abraham, and made us a
great people. God said, “I will walk among you, and will be
your God, and ye shall be my people.” (Leviticus 26:12)
God expected ancient Israel, and He expects us
also, to depend on Him entirely for every need. Israel was told
not to make a military treaty, neither a defense alliance, nor
to enter into a trading confederation with other nations. God
expressly forbade Israel from entering into leagues or covenants
with their neighbors for the purpose of security, religion, or
commerce. The Bible cannot be any clearer as to how God regards
an immigration policy when it comes to heathens. “You
shalt make no covenant with them, nor with their gods.
They shall not dwell in thy land, lest they make thee
sin against me: for if thou serve their gods, it will surely be
a snare unto thee.” (Exodus 23:32-33)
Along with a the inordinate desire for a human
king – like all the other nations around them – Israel also
chose to enter into covenant-agreements with surrounding nations
for the purpose of creating secure and prosperous treaties with
its neighbors. God had warned Israel not to enter into
alliances and treaties – but rather to look to Him for
protection and blessings. Historically, alliances have not been
instrumental in preserving peace. It seems, in fact, that
immediately prior to most major wars, there is a rapid
realignment of treaties and alliances for the sake of
strengthening strategic power.
As Creator, God knows the proclivities of all
nations. He gave us these instructions for our own good. When
we choose not to heed God’s words – we do so at our own peril.
God called and separated Israel from all other nations for His
own very special purpose. “You [Israel] shall be
holy unto me: for I the Lord am holy, and have severed you
from other people, that ye should be mine.” (Leviticus
20:26)
God is removing His protection and blessings
because we have rejected Him and His Law. The Israelitish
growth rate has plummeted at the same time that the foreigner is
greatly increasing. We are deeply and hopelessly in debt to
foreign nations. To placate the masses, the U.S. Government has
made America’s official stance – Multi-Culturalism – which
states that all religions and strange gods may be mixed
together. It is a not so well disguised attempt to make God
and religion pretty much meaningless.
Our United States Constitution is being
jeopardized by the proponents of Islamic Sharia law. God would
stop Sharia law in its tracks if we would turn in obedience to
Him and His Law. We are witnessing “the end.” God says,
“The stranger that is within thee shall get up above you very
high; and thou shalt come down very low. He shall lend to thee,
and thou shalt not lend to him.” (Deuteronomy 28:43)
God demands our absolute loyalty to Him alone.
He is not willing for us to share our national affection with
another. While we are bombarded with a philosophy of Political
Correctness that demands duplicity – God insists that as our
Creator, He alone has the right to our exclusive love and
devotion. “For you shalt worship no other god: for the Lord,
whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God: Lest
you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and
they go a whoring after their gods, and do sacrifice unto their
gods, and one call thee, and thou eat of his sacrifice; And thou
take of their daughters unto thy sons, and their daughters go a
whoring after their gods, and make thy sons go a whoring after
their gods.” (Exodus 34:14-16)
When our nation looks to other nations for
security and prosperity – instead of looking directly to God,
then God equates that disloyalty with infidelity. God considers
alliances with ungodly nations to be a betrayal of His love –
unfaithfulness – spiritual harlotry, and He refers to those
foreign nations as “lovers.” God says that our
lovers will turn on us – and as we have betrayed Him – they will
betray us. “…your lovers will despise you, they will
seek thy life.” (Jeremiah 4:30) Those countries with which
we have treaties are going to turn on us and destroy us.
God says that the soon coming national punishment
is His retribution for our disdaining the tremendous blessings
He has bestowed on us. We will be utterly let down by our
allies. “All your lovers have forgotten you; they
seek thee not; for I have wounded you with the wound of
an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the
multitude of your iniquity; because your sins were increased.”
(Jeremiah 30:14) “…among all of her lovers she has
none to comfort her.” (Lamentations 1:2)
Not only will our allies not come to our defense
– these “lovers” are the ones who are going to turn and rend
us. The United States was a founding member of NATO – the
world's largest military alliance. Twenty-eight nations pledged
to come to the aid of any of the others in time of war. In
Europe, Germany has the strongest economy and the most to lose.
The current economic crisis in Europe is causing the Germans to
reconsider their fundamental ties. Germany is courting Russia –
as the saying goes – this makes for strange bedfellows. When
Germany is in bed with the USA and Russia at the same time –
things get uncomfortably crowded.
A proposed Russian-European “cooperation on
security,” alliance would be hard to reconcile with the stated
purpose of the NATO treaty. Consider this scenario for a
prelude to hostilities. (WWIII will not begin with the
assassination of Franz Ferdinand, the archduke of Austria – but
what will be the trigger?) If the Russians found themselves
seriously in opposition to a NATO action, Germany would be faced
with a choice of lovers – Russia or NATO. With the USA and
Britain being essentially the backbone and financier of NATO,
would Germany opt for a new paramour - Russia? (Paramour: A
lover, especially one in an adulterous relationship). Notice
carefully what God says will happen. “I have delivered her
into the hand of her lovers, into the hand of the
Assyrians, upon whom she doted.” (Ezekiel 23:9)/font>
